Quick checklist before you start

Use an Instagram Professional account (Business or Creator).
That Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page.
You must be Page admin (full control) for that Facebook Page.
Accept all requested permissions during Meta connection.

1) Add your account from My Accounts

Go to My Accounts and click Connect Instagram. Complete Meta login and choose the correct Facebook Page.

2) Confirm Business requirements

If your account is personal or not linked to a Page, DM automation will not work. Convert to Professional and link your Page first.

3) Verify webhook and permissions

After connecting, open account settings and verify webhook/token values. Missing permissions or wrong token are the most common causes of missing DMs.

4) Test with a real DM

Send a DM from a test user and confirm it appears in Inbox. If not, open the webhook debug guide below.

Single webhook URL

Use a single URL as Meta Callback URL: https://heoxify.com/webhook (GET verification and POST events go to the same URL).

Checklist

Instagram Professional / Business: Account must be linked to a Facebook Page (Settings → Account type).
Page link: In Meta for Developers, Instagram product must be added and Page + Instagram account linked.
Webhook object & fields: In Meta Webhooks, select Instagram (or Page); fields: messages, messaging_postbacks.
Page subscribe: Page must be subscribed to the app. subscribed_apps must use a Page access token, not a user token (see curl below).
App mode: In Development mode, only app-role users can test. Go Live or add test users for real DMs.
Permissions: instagram_basic, instagram_manage_messages, pages_show_list, pages_manage_metadata, pages_messaging must be approved.

IG Professional + Page linked: Instagram must be linked to a Facebook Page; personal accounts are not enough.
App roles vs public: In Development, only Tester/Developer roles can DM. Go Live or add test users for real users.
Advanced Access / App Review: instagram_manage_messages and pages_messaging may need Advanced Access or App Review.
subscribed_apps check: Verify the page is subscribed with the curl below. Test payload only validates the webhook URL; real events need page subscription.

Why this matters

The quality of your prompt directly impacts bot performance.

A good prompt creates natural replies, drives action, and improves lead quality.

A weak prompt makes the bot feel robotic and reduces trust.

1) Define one clear goal

Before writing, ask: what should this bot do?

Pick a single main objective. One bot cannot do everything equally well.

2) Define bot character

Advisor, sales, or support tone are all possible. In most cases, a professional advisor tone performs best.

3) Write naturally

Avoid long paragraphs and robotic copy. Keep replies short, clear, and question-driven.

Example: "Hi, we provide solutions tailored to businesses. Which area do you want to improve first?"

4) Understand before selling

Great bots first understand user needs and pain points.

Example questions: "What system are you using now?" / "What is your biggest bottleneck?"

5) Talk outcomes, not features

Explain the solution impact instead of listing product features.

6) Build trust

Acknowledge concerns, avoid hype, and keep statements clear.

7) Guide at the right moment

Do not push links in the first message. Start with conversation, then guide.

Example: "If you want, we can map this to your scenario step by step."

8) Define the final action

Clarify what user should do at the end: start demo, move to WhatsApp, or submit form.

9) Capture leads naturally

Provide a reason before requesting contact info. Context increases conversion.

12) Full example prompt

The template below is the proven structure our best-performing bots use. Copy it and replace the bracketed placeholders — the section layout itself is what makes the bot reliable.

Why this format matters:

Every field question and the closing message must be written in quotes ("...") — the system parses these exact quotes so the bot never invents its own wording.
Right after an "İlk mesaj:" label, leave one blank line, then the quoted template — this defines the opening message for that flow.
Keep the field names (Ad Soyad, Telefon, İl, İlçe, İşletme Adı) as shown — the system recognizes these exact terms to know what to collect.
Use "##" for each flow's heading (e.g. KİŞİSEL AKIŞ, İŞLETME AKIŞI) — the system looks for these headings to pick the right flow.
Pick a single emoji and use it consistently everywhere — mixing several makes replies harder to validate automatically.
